Unleashing my inner bookworm: highlighting my favorite books about nature.

Don’t sleep on these resources... They are not judging you. They are probably really happy to be off the shelf, so use them!
— Tatiana's take on referencing literature (9:38)

I love collecting books- especially if they are fun and informative! I grew up on children's encyclopedias and dictionaries (special shoutout to the A Child's First Library of Learning Series - iykyk!), and I would spend ages studying the pictures and the main concept words that would be in bold text.

Those books showed me how physical literature is one of the most reliable resources I have for learning and it's a tool I know use when I prepare to teach others in my classes and workshops.

Here are the books I highlighted in my video (in order of appearance):

  • National Audubon Society Field Guide to Florida

  • Dictionary of Nature by David Burnie

  • The American Heritage Student Science Dictionary

  • The Botanical Bible by Sonya Patel Ellis

  • The Visual Dictionary of Plants

  • Palms and Flowers of Florida by Francis Wyly Hall

  • The Botany Coloring Book by Paul Young

I am a big fan of using ThriftBooks to purchase my copies! If you sign up for ThriftBooks ReadingRewards, you can get a FREE book reward when you spend $30. Use my discount code here: https://www.thriftbooks.com/share/?code=nTZQykt0LRmFQFzeBfJIaw%253d%253d
